A closer look at the Everpure FC Series from Pentair

For years the vast majority of water filter manufacturers within the Australian market, list their claimed capacities based upon the ability of the cartridge to reduce chemicals found in drinking water, namely chlorine. The capacity claims usually do not correlate with the filter's ability to reduce particulate matter, which often clogs a filter's pore structure well before the claimed litre capacity of the cartridge.

Developed to fill the market void for a filter with high chemical absorption, with a strong particulate retention capability, the FC range takes into consideration that “real world” water includes a range of particles, from dirt to ferric metals. This ensures a balance between chemical and particulate contaminants and ensures that their published capacity claims account for the presence of both particulates and chemicals in the water.

Regular Carbon blocks consist of Carbon and a binding agent, that are forced through an extruder under high temperature. The FC range uses a wet mould slurry of carbon, moulded onto central cores, then a post filtration layer is bonded directly on to the carbon. This post-filtration layer traps in carbon and creates a larger void for the retention of sediment. The benefits of this type of construction, provide you with a maximum chemical dirt-holding ability, protecting your machine investment for years to come.
