To add to their expanding selection of products, Brewista have recently released the Smart Brew™ Hourglass Brewer range, with 3 Cup, 5 Cup, and 8 Cup varieties.
To set themselves aside from the numerous classic brewing vessels on the market, Brewista has introduced this revolutionary design that allows users to brew with essentially any style of filter paper they have on hand (Hario #2 filters suit 3 cup, #3 suit the 5 and 8 cup versions). This innovative concept is made possible by the internal ribs and vent tube, which work together to avoid a vacuum effect occurring during the brewing process.
The internal ribs have also been designed to prevent the filter papers from sticking to the side walls when wet. This means that there is absolutely no mess, no suction, and no splits in the paper filter when removing it from the vessel. Depending on your choice of bean, grind, and brew time, you may need to add a little extra water to achieve the ‘sweet spot’ for your brew. This can be done while your brew is running, as the vent tube can also double as a bypass pour tube! This allows the user to easily add extra water to the brew without it coming into contact with the coffee bed, eliminating over-extraction of your brew.
The Smart Brew™ Hourglass Brewer also features a dual spout, which have both been uniquely designed to minimise splashing, to ensure a smooth, even pour every time. Made with borosilicate glass, the Smart Brew™ Hourglass Brewer is incredibly durable, heat-resistant, and does not crack or expand when exposed to sudden changes in temperature. The sculpted neck is wrapped in an ergonomically designed heat-resistant, non-slip silicone collar, which can be easily removed if needed. For easy cleaning, the entire vessel is dishwasher safe.
Together with the silicone collar, the Hourglass Brewer also comes with a beautiful bamboo collar, which includes a leather strap and bamboo ball to hold the collar in place.
