Which GE fridge water filters can be replaced by the MWF-2?
The MWF-2 Filter replaces these older filter part numbers - GE SmartWater GWF, GWFA, GWF01, GWF06, MWFA & Swift Green SGF-G1. Also interchangeable with the MWF, EFF-6013A and WSG-1 and Puretec Model Number RF10.
What makes having a GE Fridge Filter so beneficial?
The GE Fridge Filter MWF-2 is designed to improve the taste of your drinking water. It also saves heaps of money by giving you quality water on tap which can oftentimes be cleaner and purer than even bottled water. This GE fridge filter is also designed to protect the internal operations of your refrigerator from sediment, dirt and scale build-up. By regularly changing the MWF-2 you can reduce or avoid expensive servicing costs, and also keep your ice and water dispenser in optimal working condition. The GE MWF-2 is manufactured and tested according to the most rigorous filtration standards in the industry.
The MWF-2 reduces nominal particulates in the range of 0.5 to 1 micron (class 1). It filters chlorine taste and odour, cysts, lead, mercury, asbestos, and select pesticides and chemicals, as well as 5 pharmaceuticals.
How long should my GE Fridge Water Filter last?
Refrigerator manufacturers strongly recommend that fridge water filters be replaced at least every 6 months or when the "change filter" light comes on. However, if you notice the clarity or taste of your water changes, that's the best indication that it's time for a change! A routine 6-month change-out cycle ensures that your water stays fresh and your refrigerator's ice & water mechanisms are protected from corrosion.
